A lot of volunteers and volunteer hours, hard work and effort being put into the Veterans Resource Center. We are partnering with the Cowlitz County Veterans Center on Fir to expand much needed services to our Service Members, Veterans and their families.
We will have a Service Officer on hand to assist with VA claims and questions, an Employment Transition Coach to assist with resumes, interviews, job searching and federal jobs, if needed. We also host a program for those veterans who had been homeless and recently placed into housing, needing items for their new home. We'll attain the list of needed items, such as small appliances, dinnerware, cookware, containers, blankets - sheets - pillows, towels, toiletries, etc., and have it available for the veterans new home.
We'll also have items available for those veterans currently homeless. All those seeking assistance will need to show proof they are a veteran and will be vetted.
